Allen ensures that Illingworth-Kilgust Mechanical’s financial foundation and business practices meet today's rigorous standards, enabling the firm to deal fairly with its clients while providing consistently high-quality mechanical, facility, commercial plumbing and HVAC services. His responsibilities include all accounting functions, information technology system performance and integrity, office management and human resources. He also ensures that the company has the insurance coverage needed to protect it and its clients.

 

Finance Expertise in the Mechanical Construction Industry

Allen began his career in 1990 as a generalist with a regional accounting firm. Two years later, he became controller for a local mechanical contracting company, where he was in charge of the accounting and other financial functions. He joined Illingworth-Kilgust Mechanical in 1999. Since then, he has continued to build his expertise in the general accounting practices of the mechanical construction industry.

 

Allen holds a bachelor's degree magna cum laude in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-WhiteWater. A licensed certified public accountant (CPA), he is active in the Madison chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association and a member of the Wisconsin Institute of CPA's.

 

The Personal Side

During his spare time, Allen participates in a full range of outdoor activities, including biking, hiking, canoeing and camping. He also enjoys photography, for which he does his own matting and framing.
