Kelly Vils

Project Manager

Value Delivered

By applying his extensive HVAC services industry expertise, Kelly enables delivery of mechanical systems that play a vital role in helping clients face the complex energy management and other challenges inherent in today's facilities environment. In addition to participating in the proposal development, estimating and design process, he prepares and monitors project schedules and budgets, determines manpower requirements, orders necessary equipment and materials, negotiates change orders, ensures compliance with site safety regulations, and oversees all other project activities through to completion and turnover. Throughout the process, his goal is to provide the knowledgeable and attentive service required to ensure total customer satisfaction and long-term client relationships.

HVAC & BIM Services Expertise

Kelly has more than 18 years of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) services industry experience. After working with various mechanical contractors prior to and during his apprenticeship, he joined Illingworth-Kilgust Mechanical in 1997, where he worked his way up through a series of increasingly responsible positions, including foreman, general foreman, project coordinator and CAD manager, before taking his present position as project manager. In this role, he combines his commercial HVAC design, systems and management expertise, enabling clients to achieve their demanding objectives, while obtaining an ongoing return on their facilities investment.

Over the course of his career, Kelly has worked on a wide range of residential, light commercial and large commercial HVAC services projects. These have included laboratory work for PPD Pharmaco, the University of Wisconsin Biotechnology building, the University of Wisconsin's Grainger Hall, the United States Department of Agriculture's Cereal Crop Research Facility and Epicentre Biotechnologies laboratories. Other projects have included Horizon Elementary School in Sun Prairie, Divine Savior Hospital in Portage and numerous office buildings.

From HVAC retrofits to new construction, he has demonstrated substantial results-oriented leadership and management skills, while overseeing multiple project priorities and crews. A knowledgeable building information modeling (BIM) specialist, he has excellent computer skills; strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic planning expertise; and proven customer communication and service capabilities.

In addition to his apprenticeship, Kelly holds a certificate of completion from the PHCC (Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association) Professional Project Management Training Institute. A veteran of the Persian Gulf War, he was a non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps.
