Value Delivered
Norm, a project engineer for Illingworth-Kilgust Mechanical, develops comprehensive, cost-effective solutions for all types of HVAC design/build projects. After assessing each HVAC design/build project’s unique needs, he designs commercial heating and cooling systems, plans installations, estimates costs, writes proposals that reflect the full scope of the client’s requirements and, when a project has been completed, performs quality control reviews. He is also skilled at value engineering and identifying opportunities for reducing costs without sacrificing critical performance attributes. And he works closely with newer mechanical engineers, sharing the lessons of his wide-ranging heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) experience and skills.
HVAC Engineering Expertise
Norm began his HVAC engineering career in 1978. His experience includes 15 years as a consulting engineer before entering the mechanical contracting field. Holder of an associate degree in air conditioning and refrigeration technology from MATC (Milwaukee Area Technical College), he is licensed in Wisconsin as an engineering systems designer. In addition, he has his HVAC qualifier certification for state and municipal contractor licensing. Since 1989, he has been a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
The Personal Side
Norm and his wife have three grown children and two grandchildren. He is a former member of his community’s board of education and currently serves on the board of his neighborhood association. He enjoys motorcycling, boating, fishing, exercising and traveling.
